HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for the driver who fled the scene after striking a motorcycle rider in southwest Houston Thursday night.

Police said the driver of a white Nissan Altima was making a left turn from the southbound lanes of S. Gessner around 10:30 p.m. and collided with a motorcycle rider going northbound on the street near Creekbend.

The Altima driver fled the scene, but police spotted the car parked at a nearby apartment complex. The driver faces a failure to stop and render aid charge.

The 24-year-old motorcyclist was transported to Hermann Hospital in serious, but stable condition. Police say he suffered lacerations to the face and a broken wrist.
