HOUSTON – Police need help finding two armed men who robbed a pawn shop Friday morning, then carjacked a man in his driveway in southwest Houston.

Two men wearing hoodies, gloves and masks robbed employees at gunpoint in the EZ Pawn store in the 9300 block of Richmond Avenue.

Those employees think the suspects pretended to be customers a day or two prior.

“My understanding is that one of the suspects knew a little bit about the business, so he’s obviously been inside (there) before,” said Detective Sergeant John Bedingfield of the Houston Police department.

Both men got away. They ran north into a neighborhood. They ditched clothes. They dropped jewelry. Then the men carjacked a man leaving for work.  That victim was not hurt.  However, he wants his stolen four-door black Infiniti G37 found.  It has custom Texas plates: TXAN 5.

That car, along with other evidence could lead detectives to their suspects.

“That could be huge,” Sgt. Bedingfield said.  “I mean, we could get DNA from that also.”

Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers (713) 222-TIPS.
