HOUSTON – Three men were taken into custody Monday night after a plain-clothes officer with the Houston Police Department spotted the robbery suspects, police said.
The officer saw the suspects in a car on Beechnut at Bissonnet around 10:30 p.m. He called for a marked HPD cruiser, which attempted to pull the car over.
Two of the suspects jumped out and ran. One was carrying a shotgun and the other had a pistol, according to police.
The driver, who police said also had a pistol, was arrested immediately.
The other two men were caught within a few minutes.
Police said the three men are suspected in several recent robberies in the area.
