HOUSTON – A police chase early Sunday ended with a suspect crashing his car near the intersection of Shepherd and 34th Street in northwest Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, an officer witnessed a car run a red light at Rosslyn and 34th Street at 4:45 a.m. The HPD unit tried to pull the car over on 34th, but the driver sped up and led police on a chase.
Then the driver lost control of his car as he approached the intersection with North Shepherd and struck a light pole and rolled over, police said.
The driver was treated at the scene and then arrested.
He faces charges of evading arrest and driving while intoxicated.
