HOUSTON –- Officers with the Houston Police Department said late Wednesday a driver was speeding when his car left Westheimer Road and hit a concrete pillar in a restaurant parking lot.
It happened near Fondren around midnight, police said.
The male driver of a newer Infiniti sedan was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when he apparently lost control and went through some bushes, striking two palm trees and a concrete pillar in the parking lot of a Landry’s restaurant, officers said.
The man was sent to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition but was expected to survive.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to HPD.
