HOUSTON – Police say a man may have been on drugs when he wandered onto a freeway in north Houston and was hit by a driver Friday night.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened about 10 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of the North Loop near Lockwood Drive.

Police said an SUV struck and killed the man who was standing in the middle of the lanes. He died on the scene.

Investigators think he may have been on PCP. No charges are expected for the driver.
