PEARLAND, Texas – A Pearland middle school was briefly put on lockdown late Wednesday morning while police searched for suspects in an attempted home invasion.

Investigators said a woman called 911 from a home in the 3200 block of Thurlow saying a group of suspects was trying to force their way in.

Officers responded quickly and detained two suspects, who were sitting in a vehicle in the home’s driveway.

Police said two other male suspects fled the scene, so an HPD helicopter and Pearland K-9 units were called in to assist with the search.

Officials put Alexander Middle School, which is located about a half-mile from the scene, on lockdown as a precaution.

Within an hour, the two suspects who fled the scene were arrested near an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Pearland Parkway.
