HOUSTON – A 24-year-old man has been charged with death of a man after a two-vehicle accident in northwest Houston early Saturday, police said.
Guadalupe Armando Rodriguez-Rivera, 24, is charged with intoxication manslaughter and accident involving injury in the 248th state District Court.
According to the Houston Police Department, Rodriguez-Rivera, driving a green Chevrolet Suburban south on North Gessner Drive, ran a red light at the intersection with Highway 290 and slammed into a red Cadillac that was turning onto the feeder road.
The male driver of the Cadillac was ejected from his car and died at the scene, police said. Rodriguez-Rivera fled the scene of the accident on foot, but a wrecker driver saw him hiding in some bushes several blocks away. He detained Rodriguez-Rivera until police arrived.
