HOUSTON – A high speed crash on Bellaire Boulevard split a car into two pieces and killed its driver, police said late Tuesday.
The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Bellaire at Cook Road, according to the Houston Police Department.
A man driving west on Bellaire was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control and went off the road to the right, police said. His car slammed into an electrical pole, splitting both the car and the pole into two pieces.
The driver was ejected from his car and died at the scene. There were no passengers.
Some witnesses told police the car was traveling around 100 miles per hour when it wrecked.
