HOUSTON – A driver is accused of losing control of his sport utility vehicle and slamming into a fence and two parked vehicles before trying to run away on foot.
It all happened in the northbound lanes of Harbrook Drive in southeast Houston around 9 p.m. Thursday.
Police said the driver was traveling too fast while trying to turn onto Edna, and he skidded into a parked truck and then plowed down a rod iron fence. The SUV finally came to a stop after hitting a red minivan.
According to the Houston Police Department, the driver then jumped out of his SUV and ran away. He was later found by officers just a few blocks away.
The man was taken into custody.
