Police: Deputy at fault for accident in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON – Investigators said a deputy is to blame for an accident in northwest Harris County on Sunday.

Police said around 1 a.m., the deputy was driving westbound on Cypress North Houston when he approached the Huffmeister intersection. 
As he approached the middle of the intersection, he turned his lights on to past through the red light. A woman who was driving southbound on Huffmeister t-boned the deputy. The woman was not hurt. The deputy was taken to North Cypress Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.
