HOUSTON -- Deputy constables, Houston police, and Pasadena police worked together to arrest three teens involved in a high-speed chase early Thursday morning.

Authorities said an officer with the Pasadena Police Department spotted a car on Spencer Road with no headlights and a missing license plate. Police chased the suspects onto Shaver and then Highway 3, but the pursuit was called off due to high speeds.

A Harris County Pct. 8 Deputy Constable soon spotted the suspects along E. Sam Houston Parkway, and the chase began again.

The teen driver led police to the Gulf Freeway where he suddenly pulled into a dealership parking lot. All three then ran away on foot, constables said.

With the help of a Houston Police Department K-9 unit and a helicopter, the teens were located and arrested.

Police said it wasn’t clear why the young men ran as the car belonged to them. All three were younger than 16 years old.
