HOUSTON – Two teen drivers were transported to the hospital Friday after police said they were street racing and crashed into a ditch.

Harris County Deputies responded to the scene around 11:15 p.m. and found two vehicles lodged into a ditch on Keith Harrow at Old Greenhouse Road in west Harris County.
Witnesses said the Chevy and the Lincoln Navigator lined up at Keith Harrow and Barker-Cypress to race. There were two 15-year-old boys in the Lincoln, and one 15-year-old driver in the Chevy.  The underage drivers sped off racing and apparently neither knew the road ended. Both vehicles crashed into a ditch.
The Lincoln also hit a wooden telephone pole. That driver was airlifted to Memorial Hermann in critical condition, but the passenger was not hurt. The Chevy driver was transported in stable condition.
Deputies said none of the teens were licensed. They are investigating to see if either of the parents knew the teens were operating the vehicles. Authorities said the parents will be ticketed if they allowed their teens to drive.
