HOUSTON — Authorities have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a man’s death inside a Montrose hair salon.

Reginald Eaglin has been charged with murder in the case.

According to police, Eaglin walked into a police station at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and asked officers to do a welfare check at the Scott Childress Studio, located in the 1700 block of Welch.

Eaglin then walked away.

Police went to the salon and found a man with severe injuries. He died before an ambulance arrived. Authorities said he had been beaten to death.

Police said Elgin turned himself into authorities when he found out he was a person of interest. He was questioned Friday and later charged after police processed the crime scene.

Eaglin is scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.
