HOUSTON – An abandoned pickup was found partly submerged in a northeast Houston bayou Sunday morning, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, at 8:30 a.m., a pickup heading south on McCarty Street left the road just south of the North Loop and crashed into the bayou. The pickup flipped over and landed upside down submerged in the water.
When first responders arrived at the scene, the driver was nowhere to be found in or around the pickup, police said.
Police suspects that the driver was drunk and fled the scene.
