Fatal crash in Northshore

HOUSTON -– A man faces charges for a fatal crash that happened in Houston’s Northshore community early Thursday morning, police said.

According to officers with the Houston Police Department, the crash happened on Maxey Road at Wood Bayou Drive around 2 a.m.

Police said a pickup driver was traveling northbound when he suddenly turned in front of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a small Nissan sedan.

The male driver of the Nissan died at the scene while the driver of the pickup was sent to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition.

HPD did not identify the pickup’s driver but said he was found to be drunk and now faces intoxication manslaughter charges.
