HOUSTON – Police said it took several hours for someone to notice that a motorcyclist was killed after hitting a Gulf Freeway retaining wall Thursday morning.
It's believed the crash happened in the early morning hours. A pedestrian discovered the crash scene and victim's body around 5:30 a.m. and called 911.
Investigators said the biker hit the retaining wall for the exit ramp from the Gulf Freeway southbound onto the 610 Loop eastbound. Both the biker and his motorcycle went over the wall, falling into a grassy area under the freeway.
Investigators closed the ramp for several hours while crews worked to remove the wreckage.
