TOMBALL, Texas – Fourth of July celebrations took a deadly turn when a man, who admitted to drinking, hit and killed a drunken man walking in the middle of the road.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at 11:45 p.m. Friday on FM 2920.
The driver told deputies he was trying to pass a car and didn't see the pedestrian. He immediately turned around.
Deputies said the driver will likely be charged with driving while intoxicated.
Since the pedestrian may be at fault for walking in the middle of the roadway, the case being referred to the District Attorney’s Office for any other possible charges.
