HOUSTON – A man abducted a child who was walking home from a school bus stop Monday in the Clear Brook Meadows subdivision, Pasadena Independent School District officials said.

The 14-year-old girl was walking alone when she was abducted and assaulted, neighbors said.

It took several hours and a search party to find the teen late at night in a nearby wooded area. She has since been reunited with her family.

It is not the first time something like that has happened this year to a minor in Pasadena.

In February a 6-year-old girl was abducted in the 700 block of Richey Road and assaulted. Her attacker eventually returned her to that area.

In October, a man attempted to assault a 10-year-old girl outside an apartment complex in Pasadena. She was able to get away.

Though all of the attacks were a distance apart, investigators are now trying to figure out if they could be connected.

At the same time, neighbors in Clear Brook Meadows are not taking anything for granted.

Robert Resendez is a father of two and said he plans to start walking his son home from the bus.

“It’s very disturbing and I guess we have to be on alert,” he said. “It’s sad that you have to do that, but hey, it’s getting to the point where you have to.”
