HOUSTON — Some parents were outraged after they said their kids were dropped off by their school bus nearly a half mile from their normal stop.
"There are 18-wheelers all up and down this road," said Terri Charpentier, whose son attends Hinojosa Elementary in the Aldine Independent School District. "If I let small children out on the side of the road it would be child endangerment."
She said she only found out what had happened when her 5-year-old son Jayson arrived home in a stranger’s car.
"Thank God he made it home, but he would have gotten into a car with anyone," Charpentier said.
The incident occurred several days after another Aldine ISD bus driver came under fire for dropping off kids several miles from their bus stop so that he could take care of a family emergency.
School officials said both incidents remain under investigation.
Some parents were demanding action.
"I want something to be done," said Charpentier. "If it was me, there would be charges filed. CPS would be involved."
