HOUSTON—Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin helped pack the Toyota Center Monday. This came after a weekend where she grabbed a lot of national headlines.  She spoke at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville on Saturday, and then stumped for Governor Rick Perry in Cypress on Sunday.  She also caused a stir by admitting she hasn’t ruled out running for president in 2012.

But Monday, it was all about getting motivated. Palin was one of the big-name speakers in a list that included General Colin Powell and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. It was called the “Get Motivated Seminar.”
But, a lot of people found it hard to get motivated, because they were stuck in traffic.
“I wanted to listen to Sarah Palin, but the traffic was so bad that nobody was able to listen to Sarah Palin, at least in our car, and probably hundreds of other cars,” says Val Quella.
The event caused major traffic gridlock downtown, and the ripple effect could be felt on a number of freeways around the city.
At the seminar itself, 11 News video cameras were not allowed in to photograph Palin’s address.  But Anthony Murungi of Houston says Palin was well-received.
“She was wonderful, “says Murungi. “She gave a very motivational speech. She had great words, friendly to the crowd, we liked her.
