HOUSTON -– Crews worked Wednesday morning to move an overturned cement truck that blocked the Southwest Freeway’s southbound main lanes.

The crash closed the freeway at Bissonnet for more than two hours, creating a lengthy backup. Northbound traffic was also slow due to rubbernecking.

According to Houston TranStar, the crash happened at 7:13 a.m. and involved two vehicles. There was no immediate word on any injuries.

As of 8:50 a.m., crews had the truck upright and were moving it off the freeway. Hazmat crews were called in to clean up fuel spilled on the freeway.

All main lanes reopened around 11:30 a.m.
