HOUSTON –- Outbound traffic on Highway 290 was slow during the morning commute Thursday due to an overturned 18-wheeler.
Houston TranStar reported the incident around 8:41 a.m. It blocked three lanes of 290 near Beltway 8, backing up traffic to the 610 Loop. Inbound traffic, including the HOV, were also slow due to rubbernecking.
There was no early word on what caused the crash or if any injuries were involved.
The truck appeared to be the only vehicle involved.
As of 10 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Transportation said a heavy duty wrecker was on-scene to upright the truck, and a hazmat team was in route to clean up a fuel spill.
At noon Houston TranStar indicated the crash was cleared out of the way.
