HOUSTON – An overnight blaze caused severe damage to a Heights-area home Saturday.
The fire started around 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of Dickson and Bethie.
According to authorities, fire crews responded to the scene to find heavy flames coming from the back of a one-story wood-frame house.
Firefighters said the blaze started after the homeowner left a steak in the oven. The whole oven went up in flames, which spread to the kitchen before making its way through the whole house.
The homeowner, his daughter and son all got out safely. There were no injuries.
