HOUSTON – There were some scary moments for some in the Galleria area on Saturday.
KHOU 11 News was contacted by people who were frightened by the sight of men carrying rifles. The men are with the group “Open Carry Texas,” a gun rights group promoting the right to carry guns in public.
“We have had a couple of negative reactions. We started our walk down here on Post Oak. We had a couple that pulled up and really kind of chewed us out, but that’s their right. That’s what’s great about this country. We can exercise our rights and they can exercise their rights,” one of the activists said.
Open Carry Texas recently said it would stop going into restaurants where it wasn’t welcome like Starbucks and Chipotle.
