ATASCOCITA, Texas – An 18-year-old died early Saturday morning in an auto accident involving two vehicles in northwest Harris County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said that at about 2:30 a.m. a pickup with four male teens was traveling west on FM 1960 as they approached the intersection of Timber Forest. A Toyota Camry pulled out from a shopping center parking lot near the intersection and made a sharp turn in front of the truck causing the pickup to slam into the car.
There were four passengers in the Camry including to two males and two females, deputies said. One of the male passengers died at the scene.
The female driver and the other male passenger were airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, while the other female passenger was taken to Ben Taub Hospital.
No one from the truck was injured in the accident, but the driver of the pickup, an 18-year-old male, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
He is not expected to be charged with intoxication manslaughter since deputies said the he was not at fault for the accident.
