HOUSTON – One man died and another was taken to a hospital with severe burns after a two-vehicle collision late Friday night in northwest Harris County, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD said that at about 11 p.m. a Toyota car traveling north on Highway 6 near Pine Forest crossed over the middle turning lane into oncoming traffic. A white pickup traveling south was unable able to avoid the car slammed into the Toyota.
The Toyota burst into flames after the collision, police said. The driver was taken to Herman Hospital by Lifeflight with severe burns, while the passenger was taken to Cy-Fair Hospital where he later died.
Police said that driver was found to be highly intoxicated.
