HOUSTON – A father, mother, and their two teenage kids were unharmed after a potential burglar broke into their northwest Harris County home overnight, deputies said.

It happened early Tuesday morning in the 10600 block of MacKenzie Drive.

Family members woke up to the sound of a male suspect trying to break into their home. They said the man tried to go through a front window but gave up and went to the side of the home where he managed to go through another window.

The family confronted the man, who then fled the home northbound through the neighborhood.

Harris County Sheriff's Deputies searched but could not find the suspect, even after setting up a perimeter.

The family was not harmed.
