HOUSTON -- Houston police said a driver rushing to take his wounded friend to the hospital led officers on a brief chase early Monday.

Police said around 3 a.m. a fight broke out in the parking lot of a strip club. Someone pulled out a gun and opened fire, and one of the bullets grazed a man in a yellow SUV.

The driver of the SUV got onto the North Freeway and went southbound to the South Loop. An HPD officer attempted to pull over the speeding vehicle, but the driver kept going.

Eventually the driver pulled over at Shepherd, and an ambulance was called.

No suspects were taken into custody in the shooting, but police said the driver of the yellow SUV may face felony evading charges.
