HOUSTON – An 18-wheeler flipped onto its side while taking the westbound exit ramp from the North Loop to the Eastex Freeway early Friday.

The crash closed the ramp and slowed westbound traffic on the loop for several hours leading up to the morning rush hour commute.

No injuries were reported.

The truck was moved out of the way after a couple hours, but it took longer for a hazmat crew to clean up a small fuel spill.

The driver told police his load shifted while taking the curve, causing the truck to overturn. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
