MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - On holidays like New Year’s Eve, there is a no-tolerance policy for drunk drivers.
However, that did not stop people from driving under the influence, or from finding other ways to get arrested.
Authorities said 29-year-old Kevin Sneed sped off Monday after a traffic stop in Kingwood.
At one point, while making a U-turn, Sneed’s tire blew, but he kept driving up to 100 mph for several miles even with sparks flying.
He finally stopped in a parking lot in Greenspoint.
The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said 11 other drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
“We did have one subject, (who) instead of putting his car in park, he backed into a deputy’s car,” Pct. 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden said.
Sneed was charged with evading arrest. Deputies said he was driving a stolen car with a stolen license plate.
In the meantime, Montgomery County officials said there were no DWI-related fatalities Monday night.
