HOUSTON—Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest in a fatal, road rage related traffic accident, now that new surveillance tape has emerged.
Dorsey was killed in a crash around 7 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Westheimer and Stoney Brook Drive.
Witnesses told KHOU 11 News that Dorsey and her friends got into an argument with a man in the parking lot of a nearby Walmart. The women left in a black Acura and the suspect followed in a gold Ford Mustang with a red stripe.
Investigators say that the Mustang’s driver swerved toward the Acura, then threw a bottle at it, possibly causing the driver of the Acura to lose control and crash into a pole.
Dorsey, the backseat passenger, was thrown from the car. She was transported to the hospital where she later died.
The driver and the other passenger were treated for minor injuries and released.
Police say that the suspect fled the scene. He is described as a black male, about 6’2" tall, approximately 25 years old, with short hair tied into little spikes as if he was going to grow dreadlocks or braids. He had no facial hair and had slits shaved into one of his eyebrows, possibly his left one. He was also described as having a New Orleans accent.
Surveillance video of the male is from just prior to the incident.
Anyone who recognizes the male in the video or with any information about the incident is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
