HOUSTON— Police were investigating a bizarre accident scene Friday where a motorcyclist died when he fell onto a car on the Southwest Freeway.
It happened around 4 p.m. between Newcastle and the 610 Loop.
Police said the motorcycle driver lost control. Witnesses said the bike started to wobble and then slammed into the wall.
He fell 50 feet below to the inbound lanes of the freeway and landed on a car traveling northbound on Highway 59.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the car was covered in blood, but was walking and talking. The top of his car was crushed and the windshield was smashed in.
The HPD vehicular crimes unit was on the scene.
The accident caused a big rush-hour delay through the Galleria area.
