SUGAR LAND, Texas – A motorcycle rider died Saturday night after being involved in an accident with an SUV on Highway 90, police said.
According to the Sugar Land Police Department, an SUV heading west on Highway 90 turned left across the eastbound lanes near Alkire Lake and crossed in front of a car and a motorcycle.
The car was able to brake and avoid collided with the SUV, but the motorcycle could not stop, police said. The motorcycle slammed into the side of the SUV, causing it rolled over.
Police said the 18-year-old motorcycle rider was taken by Lifeflight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition where he later died.
There was an elderly couple in the SUV, but they were not hurt and were not taken to the hospital.
Police said not charges are expected.
