HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- The investigation continues Wednesday afternoon after a northwest Harris County jewelry store was the target of a big smash-and-grab.
Sheriff’s office deputies said it was after 9 a.m. when the suspects backed a white van up to the front of Thomas Markle Jewelers on FM 1960 near Champion Forest Drive.
Witnesses said four men wearing hoodies and gloves jumped out and smashed the front window of the store. Three of the men went in while the fourth waited outside with a gun.
Employees in the store ran out the back in fear as the suspects smashed glass cases, taking merchandise.
The men fled the store with Rolexes and other high-end watches, deputies said.
Investigators later found the van abandoned nearby, but the suspects got away.
No workers were injured.
