Montgomery County task force arrests 21 alleged internet-based sex offenders

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas –- Authorities north of Houston say Montgomery County’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested 21 men accused of soliciting minors in the month of May.

Officials from the Conroe Police Department, each Montgomery County Constable’s office, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office conducted undercover operations throughout the county.

Authorities say each suspect arrested believed he was meeting an underage child he contacted online to engage in sexual contact. The men arrived at predetermined locations where they were arrested for 2nd degree felony Online Solicitation of a Minor. Some were also charged with Possession of Child Pornography.

Those arrested are Steven Mark of Splendora, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Daniel Paquette of Kingwood, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Michael Kelvin Swenson of Houston, Online Solicitation of a Minor & Child Pornography; Benjamin Saldana, Jr of Houston, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Daniel Benjamin Harris of The Woodlands, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Lee Arvid Miller of Splendora, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Michael Burl Massingill of Alvin, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Eduardo Cardenas, Jr, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Jamey Brack of Montgomery, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Jon Russo of Humble, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Ryan Martinez of Houston, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Juan Carlos Perez-Fierra of Conroe, Online Solicitation of a Minor & Evading Detention/Arrest & Tampering with Evidence;  Jon Eric Bull of Houston, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Jorge Rivera of Houston, Counts of Online Solicitation of a Minor; Christopher Jarell Canada of Humble, Online Solicitation of a Minor, Possession of Child Pornography; Yassar Iftikhar Ahmed of Manvel, Online Solicitation of a Minor; David James Kulesza of The Woodlands, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Steven Lamar Smith of Conroe, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Grant Freeman Ellis of Spring, Online Solicitation of a Minor; Pedro Segovia of The Woodlands, Online Solicitation of a Minor; and Jonathan Cody Horton of Bryan, Online Solicitation of a Minor.

“The Internet Crimes against Children Task Force will continue aggressively pursuing those that intend to victimize our children through the internet,” said ICAC's Chief Prosecutor Cindy Pulcher. "The effectiveness of this unit continues to be reflected in multiple predators arrested and charged each month.  We will continue these efforts until these offenders realize that you do not prey on the children of Montgomery County."
