MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas—Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies are trying to determine what caused a mother to fatally stab her daughter, before killing herself early Monday.
It happened at the family’s home in the 3300 block of Gary at Timber Lake near The Woodlands.
Deputies said a 47-year-old mother stabbed her 25-year-old daughter in the chest with a kitchen knife around 2 a.m. Her 24-year-old daughter heard her sister’s cries for help and ran to investigate. After seeing what her mother had done, she grabbed a 5-month-old infant and fled the home to call for help.
The daughter said she never heard any gunshots, but deputies arrived to find the mother dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The stabbed daughter was transported to the hospital, where she died.
