MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Officials said the owner of a home in a Montgomery County subdivision faces multiple charges after it was discovered that their five-bedroom house was converted into a marijuana grow operation.
The home, located on Fish Creek Thoroughfare near FM 2854, apparently reeked of pot, leading officials to the bust.
Late Monday night, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Pct. 2 Constable’s Office executed a search warrant on the home.
They said they found more than 100 pounds of marijuana along with an extensive amount of equipment to grow pot inside the home.
The owner of the home, who was not identified, was taken to the county jail.
He faces drug charges as well as a charge for interfering with a public utility. Officials said the home’s grow lights were wired around the power company’s meter box.
