HOUSTON – Fire officials are investigating a mobile home fire that left one man dead late Friday in southeast Houston.
According to the Houston Fire Department, firefighters responded to fire just before 11:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of Erby. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the mobile home with heavy fire.
There were three people inside the home at the time the fire started including the victim, who was in his 70s, his girlfriend and his 12-year-old daughter, fire officials said.
The woman and the daughter were able to escape the mobile home, but the man was not, fire officials said. They suspect he may have become trapped by the front door.
