Elderly man vanishes after running out of gas in Missouri City

Jessie James Washington was traveling from Huntsville, Texas back to his home in Marshall, Texas with his spouse and two young grandchildren when the family became lost and ran out of fuel in Missouri City on Saturday at approximately 9 p.m.

HOUSTON -- The Missouri City Police Department is searching for a 73-year-old  Marshall man who's been missing since Saturday.

Family members said Jessie James Washington was traveling from Huntsville back to his home in Marshall Saturday with his spouse and two young grandchildren when they got lost. They ended up in Missouri City where they ran out of gas. Washington left the vehicle to find fuel and has not been seen since, police said.

Washington is diabetic and takes medication for high blood pressure, according to family members. 

Officers learned Washington was missing when they found the family Saturday in the parked vehicle around  9:20 p.m. in the Lake Shore Harbor Subdivision.

Missouri City police have teamed up with Eqqusearch to search the area in and around the Lake Shore Harbor Subdivision, in the southern portion of Missouri City.

Washington is described as  5-feet-8 iches tall and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a blue and brown striped shirt.
