THE WOODLANDS, Texas—Arson investigators are trying to determine what sparked a two-alarm fire that destroyed a million-dollar home in The Woodlands Monday night, according to fire officials.
The Woodlands and Magnolia Fire Departments joined together to extinguish the blaze that broke out at a home on S. Lamerie Way at Fairhope Way, which is in the Carlton Woods subdivision, around 11 p.m.
Firefighters had to pump water at a rate of 8,000 gallons per minute for more than two and a half hours to get an upper-hand on the situation, which was finally brought under control around 3 a.m. In all, they used more than 1.2 million gallons of water to fight the fire.
The 12,000 square foot home had been under construction for the last year and a half and was almost finished, but now fire officials say it is a total loss.
