MISSOURI CITY, Texas—Missouri City police and concerned family members are desperately searching for a woman with special needs who went missing on New Year’s Day.
Police said Christina Mordente, who is also known as Pinky, wandered away from her group home in the 1600 block of Thornbrook Drive around 6 p.m. Sunday after having some sort of disagreement with another resident. Authorities say Mordente felt it was her fault and ran away.
Authorities are worried because 26-year-old Mordente, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, has the mind of a child and needs her medication.
Mordente’s mother, who is also mentally challenged, desperately wants to find her child.
“I just got to find her before something bad happens, I got to find her. I got to find her. I got to find her,” said Melody Mordente.
Melody Mordente said she and her daughter are close, but they haven’t seen each other in a couple of years. She is concerned her daughter might be trying to find her, but doesn’t have her new address in Alvin or her new phone number.
“I’m hoping and praying and God willing that she’ll call or come over here ‘cause she’s got to be heading somewhere. I want to try and find her before something bad happens to her,” Melody Mordente said.
Christina Mordente is 5-foot 6 to 5-foot 7 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.
She was last seen wearing a lime green jacket, blue jeans and pink prescription glasses.
A group called Chasing 4 Life was aiding Missouri City Police in the search for Mordente. The group knows Fort Bend County and has assisted the police department in other searches.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Missouri City Police Department at 281-403-8700.
