HARRIS COUNTY, Texas –- Deputies said three men ditched their busted pickup truck after slamming it into a northwest Harris County home late Thursday night.
It happened around midnight on New Vista Lane at Lacewing Lane, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the driver of a white Chevrolet pickup took a curve in the road too fast, sending the vehicle through a brick wall and into a home’s garage. Witnesses said three men jumped out and ran, throwing beer bottles while they were running.
Several small children were among family members inside the home at the time, but no injuries were reported. Officials a distraught pregnant woman was sent to the hospital after showing signs of distress.
The homeowner whose property was damaged said she recognized the truck as a neighbor’s.
“Look at my home,” said the upset grandmother. “Why us? Why did he have to drive his friend’s truck through our house?”
Harris County deputies are now searching for the driver.
