HOUSTON — Harris County investigators confirmed they found the body of a man buried near a northeast Harris County home Saturday evening.

An anonymous call to 911 led detectives to the property in the 5200 block of Mohawk Street, where the victim was buried some 2 feet under a chicken coup. Investigators also discovered several disassembled car parts near the man’s body.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office brought in special equipment and called Texas Equusearch to help find the remains.

The victim hasn’t been identified and the medical examiner’s office has yet to officially determine a cause or time of death.

Police from Pasadena were also called to the scene. They were investigating to see if the body found has any connection to the New Year’s Eve disappearance of Jesus “Jesse” Leal, 41. Leal and his truck have both been missing since Dec. 31.

Investigators hope to have the body identified by later Sunday. They also hope to identify what kind of vehicle was broken up and left near the remains.
