HOUSTON – The grand jury has indicted a man who shot and killed a trespasser on his property in May 2013.

Adam Anderson Jr., 64, has been charged with murder.

Anderson said he shot and killed 67-year-old J.B. Garrett because he was stealing from his property, located in the 4000 block of Langley, on May 6. Investigators recovered a hammer and other burglary instruments from Garrett’s possession.

After an extensive investigation, the grand jury decided to move forward with filing charges.

Anderson’s bail was set at $50,000.
