MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A man and a teenage girl were found dead inside a home near Kingwood Wednesday afternoon.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department said the victims are 43 and 15.
It’s not clear how they died, but investigators say there is no sign of foul play.
A Montgomery County Sheriff on the scene reported that it was an overdose, and that a small amount of narcotics was found nearby.
The man’s father, who didn’t want to give his name, said his son told him he and the girl were going to see a movie Tuesday night.
The father became concerned when he couldn’t reach his son Wednesday morning.
“I came over and nobody responded to a little light knock on the door. I saw that the car was OK, no dents in it so I figured he was just sleeping something off,” he said.
The dead man’s sister also went to the house later in the day and found the lifeless bodies.
"I don’t think any parent should have their children go before them,” the father said. “I just don’t think that’s a good feeling at all.”
The man said his son had a history of alcohol problems but had been trying to get sober.
The dead man was renting a room at the home in the 21400 block of Rosemill. It’s not clear what his relationship was with the girl.
