HOUSTON -- The man accused of killing a pregnant woman at a Houston gentleman’s club has been arrested in Cancun, officials tell KHOU 11 News.

The murder victim worked as a janitor at the club, police say.

The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force brought murder suspect Osvaldo Aguilar, 23, back to Houston on Thursday.

Homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department say Aguilar is suspected of killing Maria Lucrecia, 27, inside the Eclipse Gentlemen’s Club in southwest Houston.

According to police, Aguilar broke in, killed her, and stole cash from the register. Aguilar was arrested in Cancun and has been charged with capital murder.

Investigators say a photo released to the media helped identify the woman’s killer, and the subsequent investigation led authorities to Mexico to make the arrest.

HPD said Friday morning that Aguilar has confessed the the crime.

Family members tell KHOU 11 that Lucrecia was five months pregnant at the time of her death, and she leaves behind a 6-year-old son.
