HOUSTON – A man who was shot at a Montrose-area home last week has been charged with burglary.
Homeowner Frank Johnson said he had James Arthur Shields’ car towed because it was blocking the driveway of Johnson’s home.
When Shields returned and found his car missing, police said he became enraged.
Johnson said Shields busted through the front door of the home, armed with a chunk of concrete.
Fearing for his safety, Johnson shot Shields.
Shields was still in the hospital Tuesday but was expected to recover.
