HOUSTON—The man accused of shooting the woman known as Houston’s Enchilada Queen has pleaded guilty.

Michael Warren entered the guilty plea for aggravated assault, shortly after a jury had been selected.

Two years ago Warren shot chef and restaurateur Sylvia Casares while the two sat in a car in the driveway of her Fulshear home.

Warren once dated Casares.

Casares survived the shooting and said the plea brings her a sense of closure, but said it won’t be over until Warren is sentenced on August 29.

He faces up to 10 years in prison.
