CONROE, Texas – A man was dead and a woman and her nephew hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Conroe Monday afternoon.
It happened around 4:45 p.m. on South Loop 336 near Carl Barton Park.
According to officials at the scene, 40-year-old Jason Boatright was driving eastbound at very high rate of speed in his 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse when he lost control and slid into the westbound lanes.
The Eclipse hit a 2002 Chevy Tahoe head on.
After hitting the SUV, the sports car continued to spin at least three times, and Boatright was ejected.
He died at the scene.
The driver of the Tahoe, 35-year-old Becky Fisk, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann in Houston with serious injuries to her legs.
Her 13-year-old nephew, the only other passenger in the SUV, was taken via ground ambulance to Memorial Hermann in stable condition.
The accident was still under investigation Monday evening.
